Kevin Campbell Presents Seminar at UCLA

'

Dr. Kevin P. Campbell visited UCLA on April 19, 2017 and presented a seminar on his exciting research to elucidate the mechanisms underling the complex carbohydrate modification on dystroglyan that bind to laminin. These important post-translational modifications are necessary for muscle function and prevention of disease. Dr. Campbell is on the faculty at the Roy J. And Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa and he is an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Dr. Campbell is internationally recognized for his contributions to muscular dystrophy research. His discoveries of genetic and molecular causes of many forms of the disease have improved diagnosis of muscular dystrophies and provided a basis for developing new treatments of muscle related diseases. During his visit, Dr.Campbell was able to meet with CDMD faculty and trainees and discuss their research
