Thanks to the over 500 people who came out for a fun and warm night at Sony Picture Studios to help support the Center for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy through this Cure Duchenne Event. Especially thanks to Amy Martin and Cathy Jones for organizing the Dealing for Duchenne Event. Great entertainment, messages, and growth of awareness. Tyla Bohbot's speech was fantastic as her family was honored for their commitment to improving care for Duchenne and their vision in helping to make the CDMD happen.

The 4th Annual Dealing for Duchenne took place on May 7, 2011 at Sony Studios - Los Angeles, California

The 4th Annual Dealing for Duchenne Charity Event Dealing for Duchenne is a fun and inspiring charity event attended by over 500 people, including celebrities, athletes, families, scientists, and community business leaders. Whether you decide to play in the Poker Tournament, browse the Silent Auction, play Craps and Black Jack, listen to Live Music, or just socialize and nibble on the amazing food by Wolfgang Puck you are guaranteed to enjoy yourself AND help us fight this disease at the same time.

Duchenne is the most common muscle disease in children. Two boys die every day in the US alone, as many as the most common form of childhood Leukemia, yet no one has ever heard of Duchenne. We are working hard to change that. Awareness brings funding and funding brings treatments out of the labs and into the boys. Dealing for Duchenne is a celebrity event and part of it's success is gaining that awareness.

2011 Honorees are Melanie Meyer & Tom Whalley and Elizabeth & Joel Ewanick. The Whalley family was instrumental in the growth of the Dealing for Duchenne event, and in getting celebrities and musicians to join us. The Ewanick family was behind the recent CureDuchenne SuperBowl fundraising and awareness campaign sponsored by General Motors and Cadillac. Their contributions to CureDcuhenne during the past 6 months has caused an unparalleled change in the battle against this disease.
